Race Recap: Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon, June 2019

Our first race of the season, the Light At The End Of The Tunnel Marathon, took place on June 9, 2019. It was a beautiful day for a run with comfortable temperatures; approximately 55* at the Start Line and 75* at the Finish Line.
There were 584 runners in total, 312 men and 272 women. 233 of which qualified for Boston, 40% - amazing! Our youngest runner was a 16 y/o female and the oldest runner was a 76 y/o male.
We had two starting waves, gun times were 7:01am and 7:12am. The first finisher came through the Finish Line after 2:33:27 and the last finisher came through at 7:59:20.

  • Overall average pace – 9:09/mile
  • Overall average run time – 4:00
  • Average male pace – 8:41/mile
  • Average male finish – 3:47
  • Average female pace – 9:42/mile
  • Average female finish – 4:14
It was an overall outstanding day, spirits were high, and personal records were abound! The post-race chili was warm and tasty, and the post-race ice-bath was cool and soothing. Our first marathon of the year went exceptionally well and has us anxiously awaiting the fun-filled days of our two other marathons to come!
